Advocacy

PDFPrintE-mail

The vision of BCABVI is rich, vibrant and independent lives for people who are blind or visually impaired.  To achieve this vision, BCABVI encourages advocacy efforts that facilitate equal access for all people through legislation, education and focused action.

On an individual basis, BCABVI’s social workers provide advocacy services for our clients as needed to educate third parties regarding the rights of persons with vision impairment and the third party’s responsibility under the law.

As a member agency of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, we work in conjunction with other agencies on a statewide basis to educate our legislators and public policy makers about the impact of blindness and visual impairment on their constituents and communities.  We advocate for the funding needed to provide the essential research and services that support our clients in maintaining their independence and achieving their personal goals.

To learn more about advocacy, please contact Anne Marie Hyer, Executive Director at (215) 968-9400 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
