Preschool Vision Screenings
Preschool Vision Screenings
The goal of our preschool vision screening program is to identify vision issues at an early age as vision plays an important role in physical, cognitive, and social development. We currently work with over 116 preschools in Bucks County and screen over 3,900 children annually.
If a child shows signs of vision problems, they are referred for a complete eye examination and medical treatment so they may begin their formal education with the best possible eyesight.
Welch Allyn SPOT
Vision Screener
We use the Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener (SPOT), a handheld vision screening device that detects vision issues in children ages 2 to 6 years old. The SPOT screener is safe, and quick, and does not require direct contact with the child.
The Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener can detect eye problems such as amblyopia (lazy eye), myopia (nearsightedness), and hyperopia (farsightedness), among other vision issues.
